Awning Retrofit Kit

Was at the dealer a few days ago and picked up a dometic electric awning retrofit kit to allow the rain to dump properly off our 2008 Rockwood 8313SS.

Question: in the instructions (I know, I know, I'm not supposed to read those...), it says:

NOTE : Full adjustable-pitch functionality cannot be achieved with the 89510XX series unless the whole right-hand ("RH") side is replaced with an 89520XX series RH side in addition to the LH retrofit described in this section.

So, what gives? Do I need to change the right hand side too? If I install this kit will it stress the motor bearing, etc. if I don't change the right hand side as well?

Thanks,

- Al

The way I understand it, the instructions say to install the kit on the side without the motor- generally the back side.(no wires) I installed the kit a few months ago, and if you leave the black knob loose, it will automatically dump the water quite well. I am very satisfied with the results! Try installing the kit on the no wires side, then run a hose sprayer on the roof to check the results, and I think you'll be happy- and WET, if you stand by the back !!! Randy
