Awning roller arm

We recently purchased a 2006 Salem park model. It has a 21 ft awning. We think the roller arm is broken in the middle.

Has anyone replaced this? If so, how difficult is it?

Why do you think its broke in the middle?
Can't you unroll it?

Roller tube or arm? Big difference. They make splices for the tubes.

I bet its bent in the middle OC.
21' awning is pretty long and if it wasn't tilted during a rain storm it might have sagged.

We haven't unrolled it all the way. We attempted to this weekend and because of its length and the "sag/break" were afraid we wouldn't be able to get it rolled back up if it is broke. There is also a middle arm that we think the bottom part is missing. Here is a picture. A&E said that we probably need the support rafter.

Thank you all for any help given.

Then the MX57 is exactly what he needs. Be a lot cheaper than a new tube.

Yes I remember reading any awning over 20' should have a support brace in the middle whilst in storage.

At 8 years old the awning cloth is probably not in the best of shape anyway. Changing that monster out is a large job. You might shop around and see if you can get a replacement installation for a good price. It doesn't even need to be so long cause it will be pricey.

Not that much of a job with 2 people with ladders, just cumbersome. Have installed an 18' by myself and that is a JOB! Takes 2 ladders and a few clamps, but can be done if you're determined. If the tube is bent/broken, you will have to take the material off the trailer and that is a job. I made a T the height of the awning mount to hold the awning.

If you think they sag in storage you should see the flex in the Long awnings going down the road. Youroo!!

So is the middle arm just for while its in the rolled up position or is it somehow used while open?

I've found manuals on just about everything on camper except the longer awning use.
