I had that exact symptom. Turns out the motor was dying and lost its ability to spin the awning tube. $400 for a new motor and I was back in business.

I used a ladder and strapped the awning tube to it to first take things apart.
I was concerned that the awning would unfurl during travel. I carry some 2’ heavy zip ties and ties the arms to themselves to keep it closed.
As a belt and suspenders approach, I also tried locking the roller tube in place to keep it from rotating.
When a buddy and I went to replace the motor, I conveniently had a tree that held the awning at a workable height.
The only motor I could find locally was black. I took off the black parts and put my white parts onto it. There was 1 electrical connector that I had my buddy (an electrician) rewire because the hole sizing was different between the two.
So far, about 6 months in of regular use and all is well.
