Awning rotting at furthest awning tube.

Good evening. I have a 2013 Cougar 318 SAB 5th wheel. i noticed my awning is starting to rip away from the tube that is not at the RV side. It is about 6 inches now but seems to be growing. I am trying to determine if it can be fixed rather than having to have it replaced. Picture enclosed. Thank you for your time.

Maybe hand sew a patch there as a crutch for a few trips.
You will need new awning soon

Appears to be along the stitch line. You may be able to have a new bolt sewn in. Awning would be about 1 1/2" shorter.

Once you start having tears anywhere, it's only a matter of time until you will be forced to replace the fabric. You can usually catch a sale and install yourself to save $$$. Not that bad a job and lots of videos available to help you out.
Have never seen any kind of awning patch that lasted more than a year, depending on how how often you use your awning.

The fabric will need replacing soon. Being a 5-6 year old awning, if it has seen a lot of sun I am not surprised that the fabric is seeing the end of its life.

I would try some eternabond tape first. I have replaced the fabric on mine. Fairly simple to do

X2 on tape. It will prolong the life of the awning. I have also replaced two trailer awnings. Two ladders and two persons needed. You tube videos very helpful.
