Awning spring clip missing spring

The awning on my 2007 19' Shamrock has been missing a spring clip on one of the support arms since it was purchased used by me a couple years ago. I currently use a velcro strap to keep the clip in place when it's working but it would be nice to replace the spring if it's an easy fix.

The spring clip I'm referring to is near the top of the support bar that sits roughly 45 degrees when the awning is extended. The clip in question holds the vertical support bar in place again when the awning is extended.

Is there a way to get access to the clip and return a spring to the assembly? Next challenge I guess would be to find the correctly sized spring.

Guess I'm the first to loose the spring from the awning clip.

I'll report back if I can manage a fix.
