Awning support arm

I have an 18 ft manual Dometic awning. I am having problems with one of my support arms not releasing from the top bracket on the trailer while retracting. It seems to be stuck and I have to jar it loose. I have the black clips for a release. Any ideas why this is happening?

Maybe one reason you have not gotten any replies is that this message is not really clear. I also have an 18' Dometic awning and am having a hard time understanding what you are talking about. Photos would be wonderful also.

You have to slightly lift up on arms as they sometimes catch at the top.

Mine get stuck also I think mine is when the awning has retract to tight and is tight against the trailer that is the only thing I could see with mine.

See page 6, step 8 and figure 10 on the following page. If that stop bolt is not installed correctly it can result in a sticking arm. I recently installed my 17' awning and found this out the hard way.
