Awning trouble

I own a 2014 Salem 26tbud. Got it out of storage this week and the power operated awning operates intermittently. At the moment it is extended and will not retract. While I wait to diagnose the electrical issue, is there a manual operating mode? The only marking I find are "LCI".

OOOooo..... that's bad.

Those are bad letters for many of us.

Sounds like a switch, loose ground, or a loose hot wire.

If your batteries are fully charged I would first look at the awning switch.
If you tap on it the contact may have some garbage (sawdust) in there maybe.
If that doesn't work it is probably the motor.

The switch takes +12 and -12 volts and reverses the polarity to go in or out.

Here is a generic awning switch and how it looks inside .

My last TT had a really weak retraction of the awning. I was concerned I'd get in the middle of nowhere, roll it out & not be able to get it back in. Nothing in the owner's manual. Several calls for info yielded zip. But found this on YouTube tonight. Might help.

My last RV, had a carefree electric awning which died on the road. No fix other than a new motor. I bought another awning this time a dometic 9100 and it died less than 18 months. I then went back to manual awnings. If you use them like we do, they apparently won't last.

Can you post a picture of the awning? The top of a roller end would help. Mine is a Solera, owned by LCI and has a little cap on the end where the motor rides, it can be removed. When removed a cordless drill with the right socket can be used to manually retract or extend.
