Carefree of Colorado Longitude Issue

Has anyone had an issue with their awning arms bending while being retracted? I was putting my awning in during the night and the next morning I found the motor side had bent. I can only guess it was out of alignment or the piston arm stuck. My dealer, who has been great till now, is not being very helpful. Carefree does not offer the longitude any more. They are replacing the one arm with a full set of the compass model for the cost of one side. To me this means they realize the longitude is poor quality. I haven't found any recalls but I'm hoping there is a way for either Carefree or Forest River will replace the arm.

Hard to tell from the pics but the arm is bent at the pivot point and the portion of the arm that covers when closed is bent. It won't close all the way. The blue rope is holding it shut.

I too have a bent arm on my carefree longitude awning, mine was caused by a rain down pour. You are right Carefree is absolutely no help. I bought new arms through Amazon and then found out that I need a "Longitude Spacer Kit" which is only available through Carefree. I contacted my dealer and they didn't sound to promising about getting it from Carefree but they said they would try. CAREFREE AWNINGS ARE BAD NEWS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
