First, lock the
deadbolt from the outside with the key, which entails turning the key to the left
(counterclockwise) one-quarter turn to the 9 o’clock, horizontal position. Second, with the key
in the horizontal, 9 o’clock position, attempt to remove the key from the lock. A consumer’s
lock is unaffected if the key cannot be removed when the key is in the horizontal, 9 o’clock
position. A consumer’s lock is affected if the key can be removed when the key is in the
horizontal, 9 o’clock position.
Sigh, yeah, our forward/bedroom door lock is affected...it's in the included key code number list. Another something that we either have to fix, or take back to dealer, 90 miles away.
I'm thinkin' payin' a local locksmith would be cheaper AND quicker.
pfffttt, we'll deal with this *after* we get back from Pigeon Forge, since we have two doors and therefore can't get locked in or out....but dang it, a fire in the kitchen (centered over axels) would mean we'd have to kick out the emergency window. No problems at all so far with that lock. We'll just be very careful until we get back.
