I didn't know about the recall a month ago when I got locked out of my trailer. Lucky I had the rear rear door to access. Dealer replaced it now I need to compare numbers to my back door before too long.

Ding. Had that problem here. My kid broke a key trying to force it in and I had to call a locksmith to get the rig open.

My new lock tumbler set which are replacing the recalled set are IN THE MAIL or UPS...
Dont think that your new lock set you just replaced may not be included in the recall. They may be new old stock.
Would I place my familys well being at risk if it fails a year from now? No way!
if their both listed get them changed...
I've provided you with a contact email address....

I'm relieved to see that the faulty ones didn't start showing up until 2006, four years after my MH was built.

Just called to get ours replaced. I have been locked in the trailer by DH, it was pretty scary even though I knew he would be back 10 min.

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of it being unlockable from the inside. Scenario: A burglar dropping in from a roof vent expecting to leave through the door will be stalled hopefully long enough for me to catch them or atleast while trying to escape they make enough noise to get the attention of others.

Plus now that it has been brought to our attention, I don't see it ever being a problem.

First, lock the
deadbolt from the outside with the key, which entails turning the key to the left
(counterclockwise) one-quarter turn to the 9 o’clock, horizontal position. Second, with the key
in the horizontal, 9 o’clock position, attempt to remove the key from the lock. A consumer’s
lock is unaffected if the key cannot be removed when the key is in the horizontal, 9 o’clock
position. A consumer’s lock is affected if the key can be removed when the key is in the
horizontal, 9 o’clock position.

Sigh, yeah, our forward/bedroom door lock is affected...it's in the included key code number list. Another something that we either have to fix, or take back to dealer, 90 miles away.

I'm thinkin' payin' a local locksmith would be cheaper AND quicker.

pfffttt, we'll deal with this *after* we get back from Pigeon Forge, since we have two doors and therefore can't get locked in or out....but dang it, a fire in the kitchen (centered over axels) would mean we'd have to kick out the emergency window. No problems at all so far with that lock. We'll just be very careful until we get back.

Having trouble since day one with my camper with keys are to get in and turn and get back out. Thought that it would get better over time. Mostly just use 'auto-lock' feature.

Did you get to speak with a real human being? If so which number did you call? I called the 800 number and got a menu walk through, and then instructed to leave a message. (eyeroll)

I left 'em a lengthy one, even included the VIN #. Oh well, if they call back this evening, fine, if not they may or may not get me on my cell phone and I'll deal with it after Labor Day.
