The awning on my Windjammer 3008 will do this if I have the front arm of the awning pulled down and locked. What is this door roller you all are talking about?

There is a roller you can mount to the top corner of the door so that when you open it the roller & not the corner of the door will contact the awning. If the door is square cornered & not rounded, it will tear a hole in the awning. Somewhat effective, but in my opinion looks kind of tacky.

Door rubbing awning

Go to an electrical supply store and get a piece of edge guard. This will slip over the corner of the door and give you a smooth corner.

See post #12. Youroo is right, don't roll the awning out all the way & you will have clearance. Stop it just short of full extension (not very much at all). I did this & gained about 1 1/2" of clearance which is plenty.

Thanks I get it now. And I have to agree with you it wouldn't look very good.
