Ps if you have your awning manual to find what model awning you have it tells you in the manual how to roll up incase of failure.

Thanks-its a carefree 15ft is all I know. Don't have a manual or part# and the manual I got with the RV says nothing 'bout awnings.

Welcome! Glad you're here.

Go to the Carefree of Colorado web site. They have all the manuals for all their products there. Carefree Support

In the upper left hand corner of this web page is a section called "files" right next to
"User cp"
Look in there for the download of your awning.
It'll also tell you how to use in case of a failure.

I believe this file exists in the "files" section frf.
mods have created the files section for situations such as this.
