Electric awning question...

Have a 2012 Greywolf 28BH: I'm not sure my awning is extending properly. It never looks like it has gone totally out, and if I don't stop it, it will wind back up backwards.
Shouldn't it lock into place at some point?
Thanks!

Actually, that sounds like a safety feature to safeguard the awning motor if someone failed to release the button and ended up burning up the motor, or whatever. I don't have an electric awning myself so I'm just guessing.

I am trying to determine that. I have a call into my dealer but have not received a return call yet. There is no paperwork specifically for the awning, just 2 different companies listed: Dometic and Carefree of Colorado. I'm doing research now...

Dometic Power Awning. According to RV dealer (who just called) this operation is normal. It does NOT lock in an out position. I'm also checking with the manufacturer.

The awning doesn't have a "lock up" point. You just stop it with 1/3 to half a wrap left on the roller.

Right. I have the Carefree of Colorado on my 2013, and if you roll it out too far it starts to sag. Just roll it out until the flap at the end is hanging straight down. Then you can fine-tune it with the touch of the button if you need to. Mine has the LED lights built into the metal roller, and that is REALLY cool. Love the awning so far, but have only been out with it once.

Thanks!

Appreciate all the input! We love it, but as with anything new, it has a learning curve. Bought some things to hang lights, but have to take lights down a lot because of wind.
Learned "if your away from camp for more than 20 minutes, roll it up" rule. Paid off several times!!!
Can't wait for our next trip!!!
