Electric Awning won't retract on Toyhauler

Hello,
We had problems on our last trip to Florida. Our electric awning on our Puma Toyhauler would not retract. It would extend, but not retract.

After trying to diagnose the problem and leaving the awning alone for about two hours we were able to get the awning to retract.

When the awning was retracting it would vibrate or buck as it rolled up. Some forums suggested that these awnings have stall limiters on the motors and that when the motors stall they overheat and shutdown for a while.

It was also suggested that if the awning is rolling up square that this too could be a problem.

Ideas, tips, suggestions anyone???

The motor on your awning is a two way motor so that makes your switch also two way.
I suspect the "out" side of the switch may be bad.
Since it works fine going out Id get a new switch first.

My original thought too, but the pardette managed to get it to roll up before I got back home. Since we needed to move on, havint retracted was more important than fixing the problem.

Any other ideas out there???
