Entry door gas strut

I have a 2015 Georgetown that has a gas strut on the bottom of the entry door which pulls the door open. If not held, the door forcefully opens and will slam against the awning, if open, or the awning mounts. I find this extremely unwanted. Once the door is open, it does limit the door from opening further which IS wanted. Does anyone else know of a strut or limiter that will limit the travel but NOT assist with opening? I'm going to be forced to remove it to prevent the door from slamming open. All help and/or input is appreciated.

I have the same problem on my 2017 Pursuit. I took it off. The door will not open or close correctly now because of it. Still trying to come up with a solution.

I finally removed the strut which solved one issue but led to another, that being the door now fully opens. I do have control of the door opening, just not too wide. now my fix is to secure the door open to the wheel preventing it from moving. Not the fix I wanted and may go back to the strut. Oh well

You may be able to move one of the mounts slightly to limit how far the door opens.

These have an internal cable that prevents over extension and will hold the door open.

I uses a smaller version to keep my cabinet doors open.

Where would you install that for an main door? Seems the screen would get in the way?
