Just got my Rockwood Windjammer back from the dealer. They replaced the motor on the awning. I had shown them the article on the Dometic recall, and they claimed not to have known anything about it. When I picked it up, I asked if my awning had been one of those on the recall list. The service manager said he just determined that the motor was bad, called Dometic, and they overnighted a new motor to the dealership. I'm guessing mine WAS on the recall list.

Thanks to everyone - especially 10x - for alerting me to the Dometic recall.

Mike

I am sure it was. Just had a mobile tech authorized by Dometic come fix mine. Most dealers aren't aware yet as the recall was just issued on the 10th....mine would have been under warranty anyways...so I guess it didn't matter...just saved me hauling it to the dealer.

Thanks for the info. I called Dometic yesterday am and my awning motor was on the recall list. Nice lady on the phone took all the information said a service person would call. In the afternoon, I got the call that a local dealer will be taking care of the issue. Called the dealer he said parts on order and will contact me when parts arrive. I was pleased with the service

Awning fixed today under warranty. Works perfect now...mobile mechanic says he has seen dozens of these..btw, Dometic will authorize a mobile RV mechanic as they don't want these things driven with a chance of the awning opening.

I have a 2014 21fbrs with Dometic power awning. I'm heading out on our first trip (over 2000 miles round trip). My question is....... let's say, the awning is out.... and either power is lost, or some other malfunction occurs. How do you get it back in? I don't have a manual for the awning.

I have a 2013 Roo 23SS and am having this same issue. We are at a campsite for another day and I don't know the s/n. It's not on the manual. The line on the manual for the s/n is blank.
