How do you remove day/night shade?
Re: 2014 Rockwood 8289ws. The rear window shade needs to be restrung. Can't see how to remove it or the valance. No observable screws or release for the shade. Valance is very close to the shade and also no brackets or screws in sight. Suggestions?

You need to investigate closer, there are screws holding the valances on which when removed will expose screws holding the blinds.

On mine the screws were hidden by the valance fabric. I really had to look hard.

Thanks for the responses. My valance is snug against both side walls and only projects out 3 1/2 inches from the back wall/window. I did find a single screw securing it to each of the side walls. Having removed both of those, it is still solidly attached along the top. I'm thinking it might be stapled and I will have to pry it down when I get home.

There should be screws on the top also. If there are no cabinets above the valance you might find an L bracket holding up the top.

I have cabinets above the valance but can't find any screws from the top and don't see "L" brackets underneath. I'm on an outing with our RV club and will have to explore further when I get home. Thanks

You will find the screws buried in the fabric and are hard to find, but they are not stapled to the cabinets or the walls.

Got it! Found the valance screwed up into the cabinets and screws were tucked away and hard to find. The shade is attached with three screws that are now easy to access. Now I can remove it and take it in to be restrung. Thanks folks.

Gljurczyk- did the valance or the shade fall off? Our day/night shade would come down when we are on the road and so our pretravel check list includes pulling that rear day/night shade down.

X2 on restringing them yourself. Pretty easy actually. I brought a piece of the cord to get the right diameter to a fabric store and they had it. I used the drawings O.C. provided above to do mine years ago. Might as well learn how because you might need to do it again. Here's some links for you:

If the shade falls by itself, the string tension is to loose. Each string is attached to the wall on a plastic thimble/spool. Loosen the thimble/spool screw slightly and turn the thimble (or spool) 1/4 turn in the direction which tightens the string. Then tighten the mounting screw of the thimble. This will provide the resistance to keep the shade up. Repeat an additional 1/4 turn if you want more resistance.

The shade pulled my thimble right out of the wall, it's only 1/8" thick. had to move it over an 1"
