How do you repair window shade?

The large day/night shade at the rear of the fifth wheel will not stay up
The two center strings are tight, but the ones on the sides are loose.
Repair or replace?

Watched a buddy of mine and his wife restring one. PITA but they did it. Labor intensive tedious work and a few choice 4 lettered words along the way.

Ever see an old couple bickering

Good links from fonzie. Alot cheaper to repair than replace. I've done a couple and it really isn't that hard.

If the strings are just loose and not broken, loosen screw of the bottom retention point, pull string tight, and screw back in.

Restring Night & Day Shades.

Takes a little while to restring night & day shades. But if you attempt to
restring, make sure you order the largest string available for the job. I ordered a spool of string size 1.2 MM from FIX MY BLINDS, it is too small, order the next size larger which is 1.6MM. The color of the string is Alabaster that is used in the Rockwood RV. If you order kits, you will get
replacement "EYES" or guides and springs. I tied the new string to the old string and pulled it through all the holes. Just lay down on a bed or large table, takes about 1 hour to restring a blind.

Good luck

If these are just vanilla pleated shades just take up the slack on each end by putting a few more wraps on the wall mounted spools. No need to remove spool just pull string taught and wrap.

My wife & I have done three of them. Once you do the 1st one it's easy. She had a large needle that we threaded with the string. Don't pull old string out. Follow where it goes with the new string. It took the two of us. There's a difference between the big shade and the smaller one. If you can go online a try to get instructions it does make it easier. Good luck.

I found a local person who works out of her house. Easy and reasonable. Dealer referred me to her
