Really not much too it. Center it with the tube as close as possible. Place the assembled support under the rolled up awning like it would be in a stowed position. I lift it slightly to preload the support and then mark the holes. Then I remove the support and line up the appropriate backer plate holes with the marks. Mark the other backer plate holes. Then drill and pop rivet down the backer plate first. Use some sealant in the holes and on the back of the plate. Finally install the flip support with the screws. Test it and adjust accordingly.
