It is one reason (the other is man handling those long boards) I use the cut down 12x12x2 pieces for the tires. Easy for an old guy like me to carry and I can just reach over the side and pick out from the milk crate what I need. I also carry 8x12x1 pieces when I don't need to lift very much.
I use my bubble level so I don't need to get out of the truck to determine how many boards, what size, and what side they go on before I get out of the truck.

An old guy may not be able to manhandle the long boards, but a short guy can't reach over the side rails.

Thought of that!
I have the long running boards that go all the way back to the rear wheels! Just step right up!

Well....... at least it was only the door that was damaged. That can be fix/replaced by itself. A few inches to the left and the blood pressure and colorful language would have been turned up a notch.

You could say I was lucky.

I'm a smart man who makes stupid mistakes, but I did accept full responsibility without hesitation.

Stow the boards, long or short on the back bumper of the trailer or in the basement of the trailer. Problem solved.

You carry duct tape with you, don`t you?
At least you can easily replace that door. I bumped my TT into my house and crinkled the siding on the RR. That takes a bit more than a door replacement! For the time being I popped it out. I may put some type of decal over it to hide it. I`ll have to do both sides to make it match.

Which brand bar/running board, and how do you like them?

Sorry for the hijack...
They are black stainless Westin Platinum Series "Wheel to Wheel" bars from offroadtoystore.com
They came with a (then) lifetime warranty (I think it is 5 years now).
I have used that Westin warranty 2 times to have the plastic step pads replaced when one popped up from a broken clip and once for a broken plastic pin.
Each time they asked what I needed and sent them for no cost immediately. Each step came with 6 new clips within 5 days of the phone call.
Very happy with the bars and customer service.

I got some from Zip-dee, but that was in 2007. I DO recommend the wheel to wheel bars but actually rarely see them.
