LaCrosse 318BHS - Awning Won't Extend

Hi, I have a 2012 LaCrosse 318BHS and went out this weekend to find my awning won't extend. I push the rocker switch up to extend and don't hear a thing. When I press it down to retract, I do here the motor, but obviously nothing happens since it's already rolled up.

Any thoughts? The camper is still under warranty, but I am a seasonal camper and over an hour away from the dealer. So, towing it in to have this fixed is not something I want to do.

Thanks!

There is a remote possibility that a wire came off the switch. Remove switch and look for a loose or disconnected wire.

We had same thing happen in Key West later we found out that it seems this is common with the cheap awning motor that comes from factory I hope in newer models they replaced the crappy motor.

If the motor works (makes noise) at all, as the OP mentions it may not be the motor. Loose wire is also remote because the switch just switches polarity.

The problem MAY be the awning is stuck closed because the fabric has shifted. You may want to have someone press the out switch while you gently (or not) shake the arm to see if it is jammed in the closed position. I would try that first. If the motor hums but does not move it may be that, if it sounds like it is turning then it could be a bad motor, gear or pin.

There are posts on the awning fabric shifting and causing the awning to bind up.

Ours made noise it just would not engage. Once we took it to the warranty we where told this was common with that awning model.

But hey besides the few hours waiting the service and they way Prime Time resolved the issue for us was awesome.
