Paint the underside of an awning?

I purchased a MH last year with mold stains on the underside of the awning. I have tried all sorts of methods to clean them but nothing has removed all the mold stains. I was thinking of painting the underside of the awning with some outdoor fabric paint such as

https://www.fabricspraypaint.com/pro...-spray-paint1/

Has anyone tried this product or other paints? Comments on the idea?

Thanks!

I have never used 'fabric paint' but if there is mold there, I doubt paint of any kind will stick.

I'd say give it a shot.
I looked at the product through the link, and it sounds pretty self explanatory. I think as long as you have the surface clean (stains can still be clean) then you're good to go. Worst case scenario, it won't stick, and you're out the $ and time of doing it.

Good Luck, and let us know how it turns out.

No, never tried LA's. Does it remove old mold stains?

You don't want to paint anything that's flexible like an awning. It's only a matter of time before it cracks and flakes off. Yeah, try the Totally Awesome. You may have to scrub a bit, but the mold will come off.

AWESOME from the $ store will work, it will remove wax on fiberglas campers, and paint on aluminum skinned campers if you scrub it

Somebody here once suggested tile ex. Spray it on, roll it up, sit for 10 minutes. Unroll rinse.
I did that last spring and it seemed to work well.

I recently had good results using Mr. Clean magiceraser pads. My awning had mold stains from last season. Just a little bucket of clear warm water, a step ladder, then dip pad in, ring it a little, and apply some elbow grease. It took about an hour but I was pleased with the results. Used one pad.

Awning stains

I bought this from Amazon and it works great Home Armor Mold and Mildew Stain Remover it gets rid of most stains but be sure and wear old clothes and wear safety glasses it and then use Mold Armor that is a blocker and helps keep mold from forming again you can find both on Amazon

For myself, if the stains bothered me, I would just replace the fabric after a few unsuccessful attempts at cleaning..........

That's not an inexpensive solution. Some replacements could run hundreds of dollars.

Yep... But it is a solution...... Guess it depends on how much it bothers the owner

Thanks for all the suggestions! I've tried many bleach based products and the Magic Erasers without success, but I'll give the LA's product a shot. If it works I'll post an update.

I would be concerned with what the paint would do when rolled up in the hot sun. Might stick and damage awning. You could also try removing it and laying it in the sun for a while The sun is pretty amazing.

Hmmm. My old one was moldy(but only about 3 years old). I got cleaner with bleach spray, put on some ragged clothes, sprayed down, waited a bit and scrubbed with a swifter wet mop head and rinsed well. Looked really good to me...not perfect but 90+% better.

If you are going to try to paint, I would suggest using a GOOD Premier first,
Maybe like Kills ???
