Doesn't protect the awning itself, but so far it's kept the water out of the awning. Will road test on the way to Goshen.

Some new campers come with the metal cover that is part of the awning. A good tarp shop could sew one of those onto an existing awning.

Get an A & E awning with the metal weather shield. They've been around for years.

I missed that the OP was looking for a brand new awning.
Great suggestion.

OldCoot responded to my input "Easy to spend someone else's money isn't it?". It was just a suggestion and if the original awining had the weather shield this thread would never appear. My A & E 15 year old awning with the weather shield looks like new. Pay me now or pay me later is an old adage that still applies to many situations. Excuse me OC.

I also missed the OP's statement that he was buying a new awning. I thought he was inquiring about covering his original awning. That's why I deleted the post. Sorry bubbles. I blame it on old age.
