Reseal endcap window

I took out my endcap window and resealed it, the hole fir the window was cut out big from the factory. I put two layers of 1/8 thick x 1 inch wide butyl, I put the window back in by myself, I tried to get it in a little higher than originally placed, but its only sealed about 1/2 wide at the top, the butyl squeezed out good all the way around and I am going to caulk around window tomorrow. Do y'all to think it will be ok, l am questioning myself. I tried to pry up on the frame to get it a little higher but no luck, the butyl had it held tight???

There was a leak in bottom of window, or that is where the water found it's way out. There was only one layer of 1/8 inch butyl tape from factory, I repaired inside hole. I am going to cover repair with contact paper border and padded headboard at head of the bed.

You should be fine. If the tape squeezes out a little it's making contact and should seal. Give it a day in the sun if possible and trim off the excess putty before you caulk it.

Thanks Mars the butyl tape did squeeze out, I did let it set and caulked, just good to have some assurance. Hope I never have to take it out but if I do I am going to glue shims on the lower part of the opening to center the window better, will have to leave the window out for 24 hours for glue to dry. The factory could do better on there assembly, but it's all about production. My TT had a previous owner, most every problem I have repaired has been due to poor construction.

Completed my repair, made 8 inch border out of contact paper and took the comforter that matched the TT colors and covered the headboard, l think it turned ok.
