Self inflicted damage

Oops! So I was packing up after our last camping trip and as I was rolling up the awning I heard a loud noise. Unfortunately, my awning support is right over top of the bedroom window. Turns out, not closing the window first is a problem. Good thing the aluminum frame wasn't bent too bad, only $18 for new glass. It was real easy pulling out the frame, pulled 2 "C" clips and 2 screws at the hinge...and it was out. Why the factory would install an awning brace over a crank out window is beyond me. At least install a slider!

Anyone else do something regrettable?

Just kidding I ripped the awning off by letting the trailer get too close to a street basketball net thingie ...... 600 dollars to repair, and the trailer was a few weks old too

Lesson learned and you will never do the same mistake again ...We all do silly things

On a Salem tt I once had that was a front living area floorplan with a booth slideout, I ran the slide in without looking. I forgot I had the jack knive sofa folded out, that is until I heard the slide out trim crack.
I learned to always check around the slide, inside and out, and to always watch the slide while it's moving.

I forgot to close the the cupboard doors in my outside kitchen. So when I closed the the door to the kitchen the cupboard door's corners punctured the insulation in the door.

I left a cabinet door open and tore it off when I closed the slide, lucky for me it was an easy fix.

Closing the slide in the dark (in a hurry of course) and not realizing the bathroom door is WIDE open = loud crunching noises followed by colorful language.
Luckily the damage wasn't too bad and easily fixed.

I made the mistake of relying on a campground employee to guide me into a campsite without getting out and checking everything out.
Needless to say I didn't see a short post with a faucet on it until he motioned to stop. He said you just hit a faucet with your coach.
When I went outside there was a slight crease through 5 compartment doors. $5000 worth of damage.
They paid 50% of my deductible. I haven't been back there since.

Let's see where would I start about all my RV mishaps. Left CG with antenna up drove down interstate quite aways before I remembered and put it down.
Didn't hit anything, no low bridges whew! Left CG with basement door open
others notice before I left and I got the chance to close it before anything fell out. Had sewer hose come off when draining tank, that was or is I hope a one time experience. Tried to leave with jacks down. I guess it safe to say we all do things dumb once in a while, it's just the price we pay or the looks we get.

So far with the new fiver cabinet door left open slide came in and heard crack no damaged thou. Wife's decorative tissue box fell off counter behind closed slide brought out slides caught and smashed box didn't even noticed it but wife did!
Came back from first trip and cleaned trailer before parking in storage forgot the stair handle out and caught wall and tore off rubber cover and pulled screws out put new larger screws and sealer OK now and that was only a month old.

Jeez, all I've ever done was catch the stair rail in the awning brace once. Very small mark on the bar.

Must be my flight training carrying over.

I "last chance check" everything, everytime.

The awning was a moment of "inattention"....

Forgotten to attach support arms to awning. First wind that night threw awning over top of tt. Luck only a few screws to tighten. Don't forget them supports!

Once I drove about 30 miles with the trailer ball coupler not latched on my popup, luckily it stayed on the ball....

Needless to say I now have a padlock that has to be in place as part of my checklist

I would use this stuff if you need a temporary fix.

Almost tore the spare off the rear bumper while pulling into a gas station. There was a pretty good dip at the entrance.

Got lucky and only tore the cover and bent the carrier. Nothing a sizeable hammer won't fix .

Meant to put hitch pin in and forgot, put chocks away and when wife got back in camper to do something it slowly slid backward ad out... no harm done and electric tongue jack propped it back up..just felt VERY dumb....Final walk around is done twice now...as is double checking everything as I do it......

Forgot to take out the pin and undo the safety latch on our fifth wheel before hitching up...needless to say one piece of twisted, bent metal!
