Side Window Shattered

Traveling today on US 55 in Mississippi, a very rough road, my side window on the kitchen slide shattered. Has anyone had this happen to them? I have a 36CKTS Cedar Creek. Any suggestions on where to get this repaired. We are now in Louisiana.

Shattered Window

I have a $500 deductible. My main concern is getting it fixed before it rains tomorrow. I have a call into Cedar Creek, they are closed now. My insurance carrier, GEICO says it will take a month to order a new glass, since it is tempered.

How about a low cost temp cover? Big sheet of hard plastic from a big box hardware?

That is what I did. Plexiglass with duck tape. Thank you.

The rest of the story

E-Mail I sent to GEICO:

Thank you, Tiffany,

I want you to know that I am extremely unhappy on how this situation was handled. I have RV coverage with GEICO. During travel one of the RV side windows shattered. I was referred by GEICO to Guardian. Evidently they, or at least the person I spoke with, knew nothing about RV’s. They informed me that it would take at least a month to replace the glass. Living full time in an RV, that is obviously not acceptable. I contacted the manufacturer of the glass, HEHR, Inc. and they shipped me a replacement window within 36 hours.

I don’t know what Guardian was going to do for a month, so I would appreciate it if you would tell me.

Needless to say, I am very disappointed in GEICO.

Sad part is that I am not shocked, most shops and insurance providers have NO IDEA what to do with a trailer.. They insure them because they can make a dime.

Ooo..I have Geico. That does not sound promising for the future at all.
Thank you for sharing that information with us.
