During the summer vacation I noticed that a lot of heat was coming in from the skylight over the shower in my Flagstaff 21FBRS. I was just wondering if anyone know the best way to block this area to keep the heat out. I tried some of that aluminum sheeting but it's hard to keep in place. Do they make anything for this?

I used vinyl undersill trim as a frame. Using the existing screws on the skylight frame to hold the undersill up. Then I took plastic corrugated yard sale sign material and taped aluminum tape to one side, to face the sun. Then I slid this into the skylight by using the under seal frame like a sliding window. I did both skylight and the bathroom vent fan.

Duo Form makes a skylight shade that mounts in 5 minutes with 8 screws. Mounts from the inside. Fits multiple sizes. Retractable. Around $79, maybe cheaper if you shop around. Works great. Better than any homemade or adhesive coverings I've tried. Looks good also.

Made my own for the two skylights in ours to cut down on heat.

Used reflectix, heat resistant material, and a layer of actual material on the inside to go with the interior better. The side toward the skylights I sewed a strip of Velcro all the way around to use for the mounting.

Used command strips Velcro to hold inside the skylights.

They work great and we can still use the blinds that are in the skylights if we want.

No screws to mess with and they have been there for two seasons now with no issues with the command strips Velcro either.

Work great to block the heat.

Plus now I have a sewing machine and learned how to use one so I can make more stuff [emoji3]

I used flex-seal, 2 coats of white then 2 coats of black and another 2 coats of white, it blocks the sun, keeps the heat out and protects the skylight from cracks and deteriorating from the sun and hail. Sky lights - One of the stupidest things they put on a camper, if I have to replace mine again I'm getting a flat piece of heavy duty plexi-glass and installing that.
