Slide out awning

Screw on slide out awning snapped in half and the bracket is pulling away from side. The head of screw just pulled out but bottom half is still in the hole. Not sure how to go about fixing this.

Is there enough of the broken screw sticking out to get a grip on it with a pair of vice grips?

No. It's flush with the bracket.
I'm worried about water getting there.

Remove the bracket and use Vise Grips or side cutters.

im sorry. its actually flush with the side wall to RV. i still wont be able to grab it with bracket off. i guess i could try to punch it in. not sure if there is any harm in that. do i just use regular silicone calk around the bracket then?

After you remove the bracket you might be able to drill into to the center of the screw using a drill bit smaller in diameter than that of the screw. Not all the way through the screw but just partially. Then you should be able to use an EZ Out to remove the screw. You tap it into the screw hole and you then "turn" the EZ out with vice grips. The ez out is reverse threaded. Probably get one at lowes or Home Depot or other hardware store.

There may be another option, I would not punch it in, if you can't get hold of it like Old Coot said you might consider drilling a new hole in the bracket just to the side or top of the original and putting in a new screw. Naturally take the bracket off to do this and then reattach to the rig good luck keep us informed of the fix

Sorry for late update. Ended up taking to dealer as was still under warrenty. They did just what you suggested.
