small window shield?

On both sides of my 2901s travel trailer are 20"x20" single windows that have a fixed pane in the upper half and a vertically sliding (up & down) pane on the bottom half. I'm searching for ways to install a rain shield over top of bottom pane so window can be safely left open during wet weather. Even the smallest window awnings sold on-line are too large and too expensive: $199 minimum plus S&H and installation costs. Solutions appreciated.

I was thinking about something like an Auto Rain Shield, like for the rear windows of a pickup, but I don't know if they make them large enough for your windows.
