Solution to window sweating?

its starting to get cold at night, (freeze warning tonite, had snow on thursday of last week)

anyways, what's a good solution to cleaning up the water from window sweat? and any reccomendations to keep it from puddling up in the window frames?

also with the AC unit off, does air still flow thru it? (Heat loss)
should i wrap it up and cover the vent inside the TT? THANKS

A dehumidifier will remove the moisture that causes the condensation

We just place towels on the sills to soak up the water. Too cheap for a dehumidifier.

And yes you will loose heat through your AC unit. Not a lot but there is some loss. A solution I saw once was a custom made cover that used velcro to cover it up.

when it starts to get cold here, we bring in the dehumidifier and let it run on high
right in the middle of the main room
we have the double pane windows but they all still sweat, its the cold to warm alum syndrome

Quit breathing so heavy.

+1 on the dehumidifier. Never thought about making a cover to velcro on the A/C unit. I'm assuming that could be done inside. Great idea!

Most times...I use the towel as well. By the time it gets that cold out...the season is over for us. No need to dehumidify.

Some folks use the crystals that absorb moisture with some success. (Damp Rid)

Often, just adding a little airflow over the glass is enough to eliminate condensation, we keep a couple of little battery operated fans on hand and click them on low at night aimed at an angle to the window, works pretty well. Something like one of these. http://www.personalfans.com/Merchant...egory_Code=CLF

There are only two choices that I know of to reduce sweating - 1) Mechanical removal of moisture in the air and, 2) Ventilation. This last may be counterintuitive, considering that you are trying to stay warm. But you might be surprised at what slightly cracking a window and a vent can do for you.

we leave the ceiling fan on most the time, which helps, and I used one of the old towels the wife said i could have.... and cut it into 3" strips, as long as the base of the windows. folded the strip 3 times and placed it in the "track" in the bottom of the window and the Front Sliding door. we keep and eye on them and when wet we wash and DRY, and replace them every 4-5 days... wokrs quite well,
Cost....$0.

It is a good practice to run a dehumidifier in your RV every spring for a week or so. This will elimminate that dank stale smell you have when you first oper it up. I leave mine running for two weeks and it makes an amazing difference.
