sunseeker 2650 awning problem

i cannot lower my rv awning. i believe switch is ok as when i push it i hear clicking sound near motor mounted to awning. i had this problem less than a year ago and had to replace motor. is this a normal occurrence as it is getting rather costly. i would like to know estimated cost of new motor. my rv is a 2012 sun seeker model 2650 and awning info iS MFG # 915GL12.061B, PNC 3 958524363 SERIAL # 13397758 and SKU 9108674789. HOW CAN I GET IN CONTACT WITH DOMETIC TO SEE COST OF MOTOR OF CAN ANYONE GIVE ME ANY OTHER ADVISE AS TO HOW TO PROCEED??

Same thing happened our friend this past spring. Also a Dometic awning. I'm sorry to say that it is a blown motor in all likelyhood. Pressing the switch you hear a click so the relay is working but the motor is shot. They had a problem with a local RV repair guy who dragged his feet getting a new motor sent to him so they went straight to Dometic. They sell direct. You can call them and have it overnighted if you wish. Think the motor is somewhere around $155. If you are under warranty I'm sure they can replace it without cost. Then you have to install it or have it done by someone off course. Hope this is off some help

thanks for ur excellent response. i thank u for the info on dometic as i had a hard time getting my first motor, not knowing all required info on awning type etc. had to contact where i purchased rv to get info.

thanks to your great info, was contacted , by phone, from DOMETIC customer service in elkhart, ind. he informed me that based upon my info, it appeared to be a defective motor and i had a two year warranty on replacement and repair. he also sent me list of authorized dealers who could fix problem. thanks to your info, im taking the rv in this weekend for analysis and repair. THIS FORUM IS A GREAT TOLL TO VOICE PROBLEMS AND RECEIVE HELPFUL SOLUTIONS, THANKS AGAIN!!

Dometic had a recall on some awning motors. If you talk with Dometic, ask them about it. There is a thread about it on this forum.

i did ask them about motor recalls, and , although he admitted to some earlier problems, they did not apply to my situation. thanks however for your response, appreciate it.

Good news redryder!!

Glad info was of help and has hopefully led to a solution. You live and learn. Had my friend not had a problem with his I would have been in the dark about it too. Good to pull these contacts as they pop up and have them on hand should the need arise. Hope you are up and running again after the weekend.
