Sure would be nice to get an explanation instead of assuming or guessing.

A joke gone bad

The post below was supposed to be a joke that went very bad. The pictures I posted have nothing to do with "OLE COOTs" awning poles.
Good thing I'm not making my living as a comedian---I'd starve at it!
I PM'd him with sincere apologies for the bad
post.

Neal's work is superior, with clear & concise
instructions for installation.

The pictures of the damage that I posted were entirely my doing and no body's else. The hand grab was crushed when I closed the awning on the grab rail after making the mistake of folding the hand grab rail to the rear while the awning
was deployed.

Believe me after a $400.00 mistake like that, it will not happen again. That little 12VDC motor in the electric awning is one strong little motor.

Again, I would like to apologize to the entire FORUM membership for the bad post.

THIS IS THE POST THAT WENT VERY BAD.

You better be careful about the "OLD COOT" add on stuff, this is what you will get when you buy his stuff. Bent my fine electronic auto dump awning
Cover arm and about cut my rear door "ASSIST" handle into.

His instructions are not too clear and are really confusing, even the pictures he supplies are not too clear.

When we get to "Moore Haven" for the kick back rally, the "OIC" (one in charge)will be taking care of him for sure. She carries a big stick and does not talk softly!!!!!!!

Did not have a -------

The reason of the 4-5 days post to this was I was dry camping in the woods and did not have access to a computer. I just returned home late yesterday to have access to the net.

I know that Neil accepted his apology.

The trouble with forum posts is that tone and snickers do not come through.
Posts are taken at face value and it serves as a great example of how an innocuous post can go quickly, horribly wrong.

I think the membership should also be as graceful about this as Neil,
Lou

Well something good comes out of this. That means the 2809 owner's tip to me was actually good for the many of us that have a grab handle installed in a small space between the rear door and the rear power awning strut. See my earlier reply #13 on this thread.

I believe they simply screwed a small flat piece of plastic on the left side of the handle mounts, top and bottom. An edge extended up high enough so the handle did not easily fold to the left. I don't have my new trailer yet, and may post something about that tip when I do something to my 2809's rear handle.

Don't beat yourself up. Maybe this will help someone else avoid both mistakes (a joke going the wrong way and a grab handle going the wrong way under an awning strut).

Your 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th paragraph's didn't sound like a joke to me. We all felt bad for your damage and then possibly Neal's equipment doing that to your tt. I personally think you should have just pm'd Neal instead of getting everyone involved here. Herk's right, I think we need to think before we send something like this out for everyone on the forum to read.

Sid, (Daisy Boykin) called and apologized profusely for the post and all is forgiven. I know that I have done and said things that I sure regretted, so we just have to forgive and forget. Life goes on. At least Sid was big enough to post his apology which I accept. Still friends!

Thanks to everyone for your support. I do appreciate it.

Hope everyone has a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Daisy spending money??? FT Turbs have you lost what little mind you had or are you inebriated (drunk) again/still??? Daisy's so tight he squeaks when he walks or maybe that's his age. But he does squeeze a penny until old Abe hollers.
