Warp awning channel

I have a '14 Sierra RODK. The awning light channel at the trailer is severely warped and looks terrible. I was going to take them down and replace them but I am not sure how that channel is connected to the awning and don't want to damage the awning. I have read in other posts where the channel was replace under warranty only to warp again. Mine should still be under warranty but I don't want to keep going back for a new channel. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
