What Brand Awning do you have?

We are replacing the awning on our TT with a new 20 foot Manual awning.

What Brand and Model do you have? What would you recommend?

A&E Dometic?
Carefreee?

I have an A&E manual, i don't know what the others are like but the only thing that don't care for on the A&E is on the upper arms that are attached to the edge of the roof, the revits that hold the vertical arms to the bracket are too close to the edge of the arm itself there is not enough metal around it this seems to be a weak point and mine broke in this area allowing the awning to end up on the top of the roof, but other then that it seems to be of good quality.

We have the A&E Sunchaser now and I do not really have any issues with how it is made. I just waht to make an informed decision and get he best i can for the money available to replace it. Thank you Foremost Insurance, they cut me a check for the awning damage.

I have an A&E Dometic manual and I'm OK with it so far.
There are a couple of screws on the ends of the drum that are
plain steel and they are rusted badly. I need to see if I can
remove them without something bad happening and try to replace
them with stainless.

My previous TT had a Carefree and I liked it better.
Just a style thing I guess. It had a scolloped edge which I think
looked better when it was open. I also liked the color better.
One final thing. It was some sort of deluxe version so it had
a little lever on one of the arms down at chest level that you flipped
it from open mode to close mode.
No need to get out the long hook.
I could stand on the step and grab the black ribbon and pull it
out or roll it back up with no problem and no hook needed.
It's a small thing unless it's blowing and dark and you're trying
to close it in a hurry.

dealer said it was the only one he'd seen like it.

No sorry. That was our first trailer way back in 04.
We loved the awning but quickly traded up a size to get
away from the bed/dining table combo. The next trailer
was same maker but a year newer and even though it had a carefree awning
it didn't have that handy little "no hook needed" catch
mechanism.
