Where are your door struts located? Strength?

Our 2010 Georgetown has it's factory installed door strut mounted to the top of the door. Over the years, the custom shaped bracket on the door part for the strut is weakening and bent from wind stress. Some of the rivets on the door bracket are loosening and popping out. The motorhome bracket seems fine, which is screwed to the body. I may fabricate a new replacement bracket copied from the original.

I'm not sure what pressure the strut is, but some markings on the side of it indicates it may be 20lb pressure.....if that seems reasonable. It measures 12" closed and 20" open.

On newer rigs, are they mounting struts at the bottom of the door ONLY?
If so, does anyone know what pressure today's struts are for most doors?

Thanks
