If you go back to the awning fabric install post that you commented on 3 minutes after I posted...the explanation is there. The staple in that "old" canvas looks fine. It lasted the life of the canvas. Whats the alternative?...screws inthe canvas?? As far as the roller tube goes...wasnt aware that dometic had quit the steel tube completely. Thanks for the heads up!
