window leak

Has anyone ever had problems with the front window leaking? I had just gotten to our permanent site and noticed that there was a puddle of water on the countertop. This particular window is the one that doesnt open. I could see that the water had leaked from the bottom of the window onto the top of the sink counter. Would the likely culprit be a possible gap in the caulk around this window? I am hoping that is isnt a leak in the roof,, Any other places that I should also check? thanks

I had a window leak in my other camper (2001 Shamrock). I took the window out, cleaned out the old butyl tape, installed new butyl tape and remounted the window. After the tape stopped oosing out I applied a good grade of silicone caulking around the edge (outside)

Few years ago, thought we had a leak at the window-that was where the water pulled. Actually turned out to be a section of exterior molding between roof and backwall that was not caulked during rv construction.

I found the butyl tape was folded under at one corner of the front window causing the leak. Sealing from the outside was only a temporary fix.

Remove the window and reseal with new butyl tape and seal the outside edge with Procell RV sealant. No leak after that!

Here is a link with some pictures of what I found.
