06 Salem 25BHBS bunk slide issue

We just bought a 2006 Salem LE 25BHBS from a used RV dealer; knowing the rear bunk slideout motor was not functional. We are able to move the slideout in and out manually without issue. I have since replaced the motor with a new KLAUBER N-500.
The old motor only had 2 wires, red & black for power. The new motor adds a third brown wire. LIPPERT tech support "thinks it's a ground". So I grounded to frame.
Problem now is slider retracts fine. But will not extend. I replaced the switch pack and rewired the connections... twice.
Any ideas?
