12' Slide Out Water Collecting
My 12' slide out is collecting water near the middle front farthest away from the trailer. It's not a lot of water but am concerned. My other two smaller slides seem to have good drainage after a rain and dry out quickly. Trailer is level all around. The water settles over the seam and is only about a few ounces. Is this somewhat normal for such a large slide? Thank you.

Can you post pictures of your water issue?

I just home from the trailer. It is located at a permanent site. This is not my rook but it shows where it is collecting. When I go back down I will take a picture of the water.

It only collects by where the arrow is pointing and does not spread back towards the trailer. All the seals connected to the trailer are tight.

I would guess it is just a bow in the slide roof underlayment between the studs. As long as the seals are good, the caulking on the screws and slide trim is tight, you are ok. Buy a long handled squeege to pull the water off before closing the slide.

Slide topper would help.
We have a 12' topper and never have had water pool on the top.

I had a topper installed on my slideout and the topper collects water like crazy. Camping World (who sold and installed) says that's normal. I don't believe them but...
What say you?
Thanks

My large topper also collects water but only when there is extreme rain. Some people put an inflated beach ball under it. The way the topper winds in the water spills over the side anyway. You just need to be careful where you stand if the DW is running in the slide. BTW, I also learned the hard way not to stand on the steps when running in the awning for the same reason.

I have two slide toppers that collect some water, sometime quite a bit. It's a real pain because some will drain off the rear and some off the front. The front runs off right beside the main door so I have to be real careful not to retract the slide too fast, especially with the door open ;-)

My topper(s) collect some water but they sure keep it off of the top of the slide. When we close the slide I sometimes get a bath. But I have learned to be careful.
Occasionally when parked for a long time I will get on the roof and sweep them dry I am a fan of slide toppers.

Slide topers are great and besides keeping leaves and junk out of the slide's weather striping they offer good protection. I do believe one can tighten the tension on them so as to remove or cut down on their ability to pool water. Seen something like this on a u tube video but haven't looked at it for some time. Seems to me its under replacing toppers.

So I took a picture after a pretty good rainfall. I circled in red the area that is collecting water. Should I be concerned about this?

It's something I'd be concerned about.
With that water pooling and all the debris from the trees, you really should consider a slide topper.

It is not uncommon for water to pool a small amount on top of a slide.
Just the same as it would on certain places of the roof.
Anywhere water pools is a 'potential' for leaks but it looks like you might have a seasonal/permanent spot and so I'm guessing it wouldn't drain or run off like it would if you were packing up and moving about on a regular basis.
I agree with the statement about the debris and dirt... consider a slide topper.

Yea we are on a permanent site. I'm looking into slide toppers but they are extremely expensive. I'm trying to come up with a diy solution at this point.

Yes anywhere water pools could be a potential for leaking over time.
On our Sun Seeker water pools right on both sides of roof where it meets the cap on the front. Same situation at the back where the top of the back cap rises up over the roof a bit. The Dicore seal is in good shape but its one of those things I keep a close eye on for any cracks in the Dicore. Eterna bond tape would not be any good in this area as it dips down and then water would still pool. I look at as just normal maintenance.
