2008 Surveyor SV 235RS - Rear Slide Roof Rail Clips

Hello everyone, I have a 2008 Surveyor SV 235RS with a rear queen slide.

I recently noticed that the slide became disconnected from the roof rail clips inside the trailer.

I am having trouble trying to connect the roller within the slide rail back to the slide. Is there a trick to this? I can open the plastic clip on the roller, but just can't get the slide hook to connect. Am I doing something wrong?

Also, I noticed my roof rail is a little cracked on this end. Is there any structural issues I should be worried about because of this?
