2013 Sunseeker SS 32' slide info needed
I have been trying to get some direction on how to manually work this slide when and if it stops working as slides seem to be plagued with issues in this industry.
The Lippert manual says one can manually work the drive shaft from the motor with a 3/4 socket and a ratchet! The '13 SS has no room to get to the left of the dinette to reach the end of the drive shaft closest to the motor and only around 2 inches of space from the deck to the dinette floor. Conversely, on the other end by the couch one might be able to get a long extension in there at an angle while working behind the driver's seat in a very cramped position.
However, there is little room on the end of the drive shaft at that forward point to get a custom socket on the shaft and to maintain that position when trying to manually turn the ratchet. Pics attached.
First pic is the left side and one will notice that it is just a clean 5/8 shaft with a hole drilled thru it but no socket or any way to attach to it.
2nd pic is the other end of the shaft under the couch that has a retainer pin thru it but very little stock to grab a hold of with a custom socket not to mention it would take a 38 inch extension and a flexible joint to get to it.
So, I am open to ideas on what to do to avoid a calamity when and if this slide stops working. Do we have a FR rep that can look at these pics and advise a sensible direction.
