27RKSS plastic "traveller" for slide power cable
Hello,
Underneath my 27RKSS slide there is a long piece of plastic dangling. This part evidently is used to secure the slide power cables to both the slide and the TT, itself. It's designed to allow that cable to move with it smoothly. On the TT end this plastic piece fits over a short vertical rod---this apparently allows it to move laterally by revolving around the rod as the slide is moved in or out.
Anyway, this long plastic part has broken off on the slide end. It's about 4-5 ft long and about 2" wide.
Can anyone tell me what this part is called and where I can order one to replace mine?

It is a cable carrier. Mine broke as well. Wildwood sent me a new one as I was still under warranty. Easy to replace. You can order the part through your dealer. About $20 according to the sticker on the one I received.

I've read where this break has been fixed with a simple "strap hinge" for less than $5 including the nuts, washers, and machine screws.

I'd love a link or pics if you recall where you saw that. I've got 2 broken cable carriers that I really should fix eventually.

Sorry, no link but I found it easy to visualize. Think of the hinge as a "splice plate" only bending in the same place the support broke.

they are made by lippert. ours broke also and i ordered a repl;acment. i don't remember if i ordered from lippert or an on-line supplier. the come in three widths. goodle lippert rv slide out cable supports. around $25 and very easy to replace.

Ohh, thanks for that warning.
Do you have to disconnect wires to put the new one on? It looks like it goes thru all of the holes?

Mine only carries 12 volt wires. As I recall I had to cut and splice the positive wire, the negative was grounded to the frame with a screw and star washer and could be disconnected.

Duct tape, on both sides, will serve to hold things together until the new part is installed. My go to brand is Gorilla.

Slide cable carrier
I fixed miner w/ zip ties until I could order one. It keep breaking. It is called a Slide Cable Carrier- they make them in different widths and lengths. Take model and serial number of RV or a piece of carrier that has the part number. When I started to replace mine, after looking at the other slide, I realized why it broke. Carrier has a curl to it, mine had been installed upside down. You may want to add an additional sheet metal screw to the ends or small SS washers to spread the load. Original only has 2 screws on each end, this is where they tend to break.
