Are new Schwintek slide systems any more reliable?

Just curious how reliable these systems are now after being out for a number of years now. Was it the older ones that caused so much trouble? Are the new ones just as problematic? Has anyone had good luck with these? All I seem to read is how horrible they are. I have one in my new Cruise Lite and it makes me a little nervous.

I have had no problems with mine over 3 seasons. And I don't "run all the way out/all the way in."

You should find your control box, though. It could be anywhere. Mine is behind a "door" with 3 hinges, 2 on one side and 1 on the other. You have to unscrew the single hinge and open the door. Looks like this:

Here's the controller:

If you do ever have to close it manually, you have to remove the motors. Here's a video:

I've attached a number of Schwintek guides for your use.

As I said, I've had NO issues.

Thanks a ton for that info! Leaving in a week on a trip 1200 miles from home so that gives me some piece of mind.

We have 2 slideouts with the 'Schwintek in wall' system, no problems so far but the exposed racks prevent the rubber seals from forming a tight seal. Water can get pushed along the racks and past the seals in heavy rain with strong wind, run down into a small gutter inside the wall and then drain outside. The system works but I wouldn't call it perfect.

Here is a link to a video that explains how to lubricate the mechanism.

Have a one year old Rig with two Schwintek's in the front.. the slides operate normally but the controllers are buggy and throw codes. One side throws a code when its slide is in...the other when its slide is out.

Have you tried re-synchronizing?

From what I can tell they are synced. Both are throwing a #9 motor short code but that should not be letting the slides operate. I read in their troubleshooting paperwork that the system needs to be re-energized but it does not tell how to do that.

Assuming that by "#9" you mean "9 blinks," the third doc I posted in post #3 says #9 is a "Hall short to ground," and says, "Consult Tech Service and Manual (574) 537-8900 Or Email for Support warranty@lci1.com"

It says Motor Short is 6 blinks, not 9.

Someone posted how to replace the Hall sensors, vice the whole motor:
