bend bracket that holds motor and drive shaft

New to this forum, and have been looking for information. Cannot seem to find exactly what I need. I just purchased a Forest River Flagstaff 831 BHDS 2012. Went camping this weekend. When I returned home the bunkhouse slide would not extend, just clicking. Upon further examination, I found that the bracket that holds the drive shaft and motor was bent. I think I can fix this, just wondered what caused it. Is there a stop that is maladjusted that caused the motor to pull in farther that it should, bending the mounting bracket?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Fixing it would be easy, you really do need to replace it or at the very least reinforce it with some harder or thicker metal.

I was planning on replacing the two piece bracket that holds the motor to the lower bracket. How would I replace the lower bracket, as it is welded to the long beam? Cut it off and weld a new one one? Could I flatten it out and just bolt another bracket on to it putting more bolts in to hold them both together?
Also still don't know what caused it?

Cheap low grade metal is the cause.
If it were me I would look at removing the whole metal bracket and have a local metal shop replicate it.

If you can get it straight enough then reinforce it with some good steel.

Might be better to have it repaired under warranty otherwise whatever repair you enact, it's on you from then on.

Not under warranty. 2012 second owner.
