I think I misread what the OP's concern was. On my Rockwood the gap was about 1/2" between the floor of the slide and the wall of the slide, behind the jackknife sofa. There were only about 3 or 4 screws (in about 6 ft.) to hold those together which had separated. This was something that developed over the years after I purchased the trailer.
