Have Push slide in to get slide to go out

We have a 2013 29RE Silverback. All of a sudden to open our slides we have to push slide in. To close we have to push slide out. Any ideas on why this would have changed? We have contacted our local dealer/service and they are just as puzzled as we are.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give us.

Moderator note: for those just now reading this thread- They are apparently talking about pushing the slide switch not actually physically pushing on the slides.
Apparently the slide switch has suddenly reversed operation.

Is it a Schwintek slideout system?

Is the motor running when you press the button?

Look under the bottom of the slide and see if you see two square rack and pinion tubes? If you do it's a LCI Through Frame slide.

If the battery connections were reversed would the slide even work?

Yes the slide motor is running it’s just that we have to push in to get it out and out to get it in. Unfortunately the trailer is stored off site so I can’t look under the slide right now. I will do so. What was your thought if it is a LCI through frame?

Can you push it in and out without running the motor?

It could be the stop nut is off the rod and the rod has dropped out of the bracket.
It could also be the gearbox has stripped gears or a shear pin is sheared.

Sounds to me they said everything works ,just the "Rocker Switchs" are reversed for some reason! Youroo!! Do Silverbacks have Hydro slides like other CCs?

Yes ithe slides work. It’s just that the rocker switches are suddenly reversed. They worked correctly one day and then the opposite the next day.

You might want to Post this issue in the "Silverback CC Section" as posted it will just go into "Never Never Land" and No Help will come! Hope you get this resolved! Youroo!!

Well I completely misread this whole thread.
In my mind they were having to physically push the slide in and out not press the In button to go out and the Out button to go in!

I'll be over here in the corner with my remedial reading comprehension book!

Same here. I had a vision of the original poster physically pushing on the slide room. There was no mention of buttons or switches in the original description. The actual problem symptoms became clear around post #10. I understand now.

Is the slide control a stand-alone switch on the wall, on some kind of touch screen interface?

The description mentioned slides (plural). If both slides began operating “backwards” at the same time, and they are operated by simple switches and separate control modules, it does point to a power problem. Are the other 12 volt devices in the RV working normally? Or, if the slides are run by a touch screen master control, perhaps it needs to be reprogrammed?

OH NO ! You're not alone on this one. It was not clear at all until post #10, that this had to do with the controls and not the physical effort of pushing the slides in and out.

They did put "Push Slide" in the title, so don't feel bad.

So sorry folks. I should have been more clear. It is a rocker switch. It is labelled slide in on the top and slide out on the bottom. It controls all three slides. And it is working in reverse for all three slides. This is my first time using this site. How do I post to a specific section? I will try the other 12 volt devices tomorrow.

I'm a little confused here: in order to get your slide to come in, you have to push it out? Do I understand that correctly, that you have to be inside the rig to push it out? That slide is very heavy and to push it out, it would require you to be inside the rig in a cramped area with very little leverage to push it out....
OR is it a situation where the slide is already out and to get it to come in that you have to push it further out to get it to retract? If that is the case, then it seems to me that the settings on the limiter (stop) switch is not working or defective, especially if ALL slides operate at the same time.
If the light switches are reversed, then it is most likely a battery polarity reversal, and the stop switch on the slides are not working. That stop switch may be polarity sensitive. Try the light switches and see if they are 'off' when turned 'on'.
Just an idea...

Jimmy James, in post #10 and also in the post right before yours, the OP admitted they are NOT physically pushing on the slides.
The rocker switch is what they are pushing on but the operation is reversed. In is out and vice versa.

My question is the same as youroo's... are these hydraulic slide mechanisms or electric slide mechanisms and is there just one switch or a separate switch for each slide and if so, are ALL switches reversed.

If they are hydraulic slides with just one switch for all slides, we have a whole other ball game going on.

Sorry that the Mods have not moved this to the proper location which would be "Ceder Creek Silverback"! Your slides are Hydro powered so members with Silverbacks should be able to Help you! I will ask the Mods to move this for you, sorry for the Lag Time to fix your issue! Youroo!!

The site team has discussed this and decided the post is in as good a location as could be.
It is in Tech Talk/General tech and repair/Slide outs.

Even tho the OP has a Silverback the slides are not unique to only Silverbacks.

My Question is Has the battery been disconnected and re-connected recently???
