Help, No Adjustment for Slide Out?
2017 Sunseeker 3170 in serious need of vertical adjustment. I have reviewed just about every blog out there but could not find the answer. Your help is greatly appreciated. See Pics. I could not find any way to adjust the slide. Is it non adjustable? the gear is in place and on the track centered. I did notice it worked it's way off center, but I corrected that.

thank you, but I figured it out. I would have thought the Number 1 MD RV dealership would have noticed and corrected this. Won't be going back there anymore. 2 minute fix!

the vertical adjustment is actually on the outside of the RV in the storage compartment. When I purchased the RV my salesperson and SERVICE GUY told me it was the manual adjustment. Finally after exhausting all my options I just gave it a try. I loosened the nut and used a 5/8 ratchet to turn the bolt. I was expecting the slide to move out, but instead I noticed it was raising. I moved the slide out a few inches to take the stress off the seal and it moved with ease. The other adjustment for the second track is located in the generator compartment. I followed the same process, however lowered the side just a bit.
After running the slide in and out a few times, I was happy with the outcome. It appeared the slide was tilting inward, so I lowered both ends until they measured the same distance on top and bottom when fully extended (18 inches give or take). Now I just need to repair the gel coat where the bottom of the slide was digging into the side of the RV. Hope this helps!

I too have a 2014 3170. Thank you for posting thr problem and fix. I have seen those bolts and thought they were the seatbelt anchors. Really good to know their true function. I will check mine for tightness.
Do you have a reason that caused the misalignment?

OK, must be these two bolts I found in my compartments under
the slide. Never knew they were there. So raising or lowering both will adjust the tilt, Thanks!

correct, those are the ones. to answer the other question, I assume they were like that from the factory. after adjusting, the decals are not aligned. could care less, I would rather have a properly sealed slide out. I purchased the coach 3 weeks ago, so I can not confirm any of my assumptions. I just do not understand how a dealer, salesperson and service manager could all notice this and not have it properly adjusted before selling it. Just tells me a lot about that dealership. I have been a technician for 20 years after retiring from the military. I suppose my standards are a little higher. Looking forward to my RV life now.

mrosenst, does your slide out move up and down while going in or out, or stay flat? Mine when extending has the the floor moves out first then the top and mid way the whole slide out drops an inch or two until the top fascia hits the wall. Then the floor come up and stops when all the fascia is hitting the wall and is sealed. Same thing coming in, the bottom moves in first and then the top fascia. Half way in the floor tilts in and then the top of the slide hits the wall and as the bottom pulls in it tilts up some. I checked underneath and see nothing loose. Could just be the center of gravity working????

Sagecoach, I am a novice RV owner but pretty tech savvy. I am sure mine does the same. It appears to just let gravity do its thing when expanding and retracting. This is obvious when closing as the top hits the wall first and the bottom gradually tightens. The important this I believe is when fully out, the roof of the slide has a gradual slope out so water does not move toward the coach. . . . as a wise person once told me . . . don't overthink things. you might create a problem that was never there in the first place.

I made the mistake on our first trip to Yosemite and it rained. I didn't have the MH perfectly leveled and that slide tilted slightly in. Yep, it leaked but not a lot. We ended up bringing it in. The bedroom slide on the other side was fine. Trick, make it level!

Help adjustment on slide out
Searched and didn't find a newer post, so hope yall are still around. We have a SS 3010DS and on the driver side slide, the gap is so close on the fwd edge of the upper fwd corner that it has chewed up inner and outer wiper seals at the top of the forward seal at that corner in 3 years of use. Before I replace it, I want to correct the cause by slightly raising the front and slightly lowering the back. It looks like what you adjusted in this post will accomplish that. Are there any other bolts to loosen or is it just the lock nut on the vertical bolts shown inside the compartments outside?

Gary, if you find the answer let me know. I have the same issue I will be tackling in the spring. Mine moved far enough forward that it sheared the anti billowing device off the side of the coach. I already replaced the wiper seal once. Mine is a 2016 3010 DS.

"…........… It looks like what you adjusted in this post will accomplish that. Are there any other bolts to loosen or is it just the lock nut on the vertical bolts shown inside the compartments outside?.....…..
Had to go by the storage lot today, so did a quick survey. On the driver's side slide room, the front vertical adjustment bolt lock nut was not tight and I could turn the bolt with my fingers. The back vertical adjustment bolt locknut was loose but the adjustment bolt was not loose like the front. Soon, if no one replies to the contrary, I plan to get the bright light out and ensure that nothing else has to be loosened.
After what I found today, I am confident that it wasn't this way when we did the PDI and the loose lock nut allowed the fwd vertical adjustment bolt to back off during the 38k miles of bouncing down the interstates of our great nation, creating the condition that ate the wiper seals.
I guess it pisxxes me off to think that someone at Forest River left it like that, but there is zero way of proving it.
The decal that bridges to the slide is no longer aligned at the front.

Decal on fwd edge of driver side slide room misaligned at 38k miles and wiper seals chewed up at upper corner.

Was able to create enough of a gap at the forward edge at the top so it won't chew up the wipe seals when I replace it. Just need to find the PN and a source. "U" shaped and appears to contain inside and outside wipe seals and inside and outside channels for removable bulb seals.

It's the catalog showing the type that was on mine, Double EKD. If my picture uploaded correctly it will show the part number and the dimensions. Trouble is, I had to buy a 14 foot piece and it ain't cheap.
