Exclamation Help Please! No Power to slides or jacks

I just pulled into the KOA in Ellensburg, WA and can't get my slides of jacks to operate. The leveling system 'times out' and nothing happens. I looked in the forward compartment by the generator where it says "Slide Out Mini Breakers (reset) but can't find anything that resembles a breaker or anything labeled reset. I have a 2016 Cedar Creek Hathaway Edition 5th wheel. The slides and jacks are hydraulic. I assume the slides and jacks operate off of 12 volt, but don't see any fuse that could have possible blown. Any help?

Is your battery disconnect switch in the disconnect position?

Do you have a multimeter and know how to use it?

Check to see what your battery voltage is.

No I don't have a voltage meter. However the LCI Leveling System says the battery output if 13.5 volts

Open your front storage compartment, the one close to the kingpin hitch. Pull back the plastic cover so you can see all the wiring going to the minibreakers. You'll see rows of them with wires attached. Usually the hydraulic pump is connected to two 50 amp breakers at the top of the row. If either of the two have "popped", they have a tiny reset button that will protrude from the side of the resettable fuse/breaker. Pushing that button in will reset the breaker.

Trace the positive battery wire in your front compartment and you'll see the breaker(s). I'd disconnect the negative battery terminal wire and disconnect the wire plug in behind the level up display panel ... wait a minute or so and plug the panel wire back in, then reconnect the negative battery cable and try it.

Here are pictures. The copper bus bars that you see connect the two 50 amp breakers on my CC to make a 100 amp breaker. The hydraulic pump pulls about 65 amps. The other picture shows my spare breaker. You can see the tiny black reset button sticking out at the top. That's what you push in.

Don't worry about disconnecting any wires until you find these breakers.Click image for larger version

Help Please! No Power to slides or jacks

Hi Slowride HD,

Thanks for your help. Located the reset buttons and the top two were tripped. I pushed both back and was able to extend the front jacks, but the slides will still not respond. Next suggestion?

Do you have the "in command" system that is known to let the user down in most inopportune times, or do you have slide switch(s)?
PS ... the same hydraulic pump operates both jacks and slides.

If your pump is still running (assuming your breakers did not trip again) There are three solenoids that control the hydraulic flow to the slides and jacks. You can see them mounted there in that front compartment. There have been occasions where the electronic board that triggers these solenoids to open or close has failed and an individual relay on the electronic board is bad. If your pump is still running when you push the slide button to activate, but nothing is happening there are a couple things you can try if you are comfortable with it. It is easy.
You can use a jumper wire from your battery positive to the slide solenoid connection at the solenoid itself to force it open. Or.....
You can move the wire from the jack solenoid that is working to the slide solenoid. Then put the level up in manual mode and operate the jack....which is now connected to the slide solenoid instead.

Smile Help Please! No Power to slides or jacks

All is working now. I discovered that I had not replaced the fuse for the slide correctly when I checked them. Re-seated it correctly and now all is good after re-setting the tripped breakers. Still not sure why the breakers tripped, but I guess we'll see if it happens again and cross that bridge when it happens. Thanks to everyone who offered help and suggestions and especially to Slowride HD for showing me where to find the 12 volt breakers with pictures that helped a newby like me.

If they keep popping, just replace them (after making sure your battery(s) are good). They do get weaker with age, just like the rest of us. And they are cheap, just like some of us.
My Level-up system is 7 years old and I believe I have now replaced all the autoreset and manual resets for this exact reason. Fixed.

Glad you're all fixed up. The hydraulic system is a heavy draw on your 12volt system. It's best to have your battery(s) at full charge and be plugged in to shore power when using.

Remember, your hydraulic pump will pull less amps at higher voltage. So when you are plugged in to shore power, your pump will draw less amps at 13.5-13.7 volts than it does even on fully charged batteries at 12.6-12.7 volts. So it is a bit easier on the circuit to operate when plugged in to shore power.
