The living room slide.on our FR Georgetown makes a horrible sound going in and out. We just had it serviced about 3 months ago. Any ideas on what I can do

What kind of noise? Grinding? Squealing? Rubbing? Etc...

Might help others on here determine what might be wrong.

It sounds like it is coming from underneath the slide

We've looked but can't find anything. I will probably take it back to the repair facility where we have gone before.

Before taking the unit to anyone: With someone to help you, take the time to have them operate the slide unit while you get near the unit to determine where the noise is coming from. You may determine this from inside the RV or you may have to go outside to find the origin of the noise. You may want to sit on the ground/driveway under the slide area and listen as the slide is moved either in or out. Do this carefully please. What you may find is something that can be lubricated by you. Or as posted maybe something did get into the slide mechanism and is causing this.

Recommend that you buy a can of slide lubricant sold at you RV store. Lubricate the rack gear that is exposed under the slide and then squirt it liberally through the access hole that the gear retracts into. I had a moderately noisy squeal and the lubricant dampened it quite a bit. It's still squeals a little bit but not annoyingly so. Think I'll let the service techs at the FROG rally look at it in August to see if they can silence it for good.

Goshen Indiana, August 9-16. It's fun from the beginning to the end and most meals are provided. There is also free service from the manufactures, vendor booths, evening entertainment, and much more. You can find more on the forum and here is a link. FROG - Forest River Owners Group We made some good friends that live in Florida so don't let the distance scare you away.
