keeping slide out clean

We have a sunseeker 3050 with the longggg slideout Has anyone ever tried to put some kind of barrier on the ends of the slideout to keep the wind blown rain and leaves out? Thinking of gluing some neoprene together and fit it between the slide awning and the slide itself. Any thoughts?
Al

bluefin, never really had problem with stuff blowing in on my 3051s ( which has the wall slide also) I find trying to apply slide seal conditioner to that top seal interesting.
