Lube the slides?

I was looking at the slide parts underneath, and they were dry. Should there be some lube on them? What type? Im talking about the bars that have the gear ridges on the bottom side.
Also hear a load pop when one slide fully seats. I am wondering if that is the seal finially turns turn to outside.

Hello,

My slide pops when the gasket seals. As far as the gear some say do not lube. It attracts dirt and gravel to possibly jam the track. I did lube them very lightly then wiped off, used grease. The manual says not too. My unit was hauled in salt roads when delivered so they were rusty.

Mine was squeeking and grinding so I soaked it with Amsoil Heavy Duty Metal protecter/Lubricant.It sprays nicely and flashes rather quickly into a waxy grease. Its actually a lot like chain lube.Anyway,it quieted down completely, all I can hear are the motor(s).Made it very smooth.

I would agree on that product, I have 20 yr old can of Sili-Kroil that works well for gears. The tracks for the most part are protected when travelling.
